High-tonnage precision impression

Shallow Drawing & Cup Forming

Controlled tensile-compressive metal flow for cylindrical spacer cups, dial housings, and stepped enclosures.

Draw depths up to 35mm in CRCA & brass

Infrastructure

Press shop equipment & production automation

Our factory floor is designed for high-uptime, consistent dimensional repeatability across both small batches and multi-million unit serial runs.

Press Fleet Capabilities

  • Light-Tonnage Presses (1T – 15T): Ultra-fast cycle speeds for miniature electrical contacts, wire crimp terminals, and delicate copper connector pins.
  • Medium-Tonnage Presses (20T – 50T): Balanced tonnage for progressive die stamping of automotive brackets, wiper motor cover plates, and instrument housings.
  • Heavy-Tonnage Presses (60T – 100T): High-force blanking, thick-gauge shearing (up to 5mm), coining, and shallow drawing operations.
  • Automated Feeder Systems: Coil uncoilers and mechanical/pneumatic strip feeders synchronize press strokes to eliminate manual loading variance.

Secondary Processing & Finishing

  • Rotary Tumbling & Deburring: Vibratory and tumbling machines remove sharp edges and stamping burrs for clean handling and plating adhesion.
  • Semi-Automatic Riveting: Dedicated riveting fixtures for joining brass-to-steel and brass-to-Hylam insulator assemblies.
  • Silver Brazing: High-integrity brazing stations for automotive brake components and critical PCB-related sub-assemblies.
  • Plating & Surface Inspection: DFT and TFT coating thickness testers verify zinc electroplating, tin plating, and passivation standards.

Engineering Guidance

Choosing between progressive and stage stamping

How our engineering team helps procurement managers optimize tooling investment versus component piece price.

Parameter Progressive Die Stamping Stage / Compound Stamping
Optimal Volume High volumes (>50,000 pcs / year) Low to medium volumes (<20,000 pcs)
Production Speed Fast (completed piece every stroke) Moderate (multiple manual or transfer steps)
Tooling Investment Higher upfront tooling cost Lower initial tooling cost
Component Piece Price Lowest per-unit manufacturing cost Higher per-unit labor contribution
Dimensional Repeatability Continuous strip pitch alignment (±0.1mm) Operator fixture positioning dependent

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about sheet metal stamping

What press capacity does Space Auto Parts operate for stamping?

Our press shop is equipped with power presses ranging from 1 Tonne up to 100 Tonnes. This allows us to stamp everything from delicate 0.2mm copper terminals up to heavy-gauge 5.0mm steel brackets.

What is the difference between progressive stamping and single-stage stamping?

In single-stage stamping, a part undergoes one operation per press stroke, suitable for low volumes or prototype runs. In progressive die stamping, multiple operations (piercing, bending, blanking) happen concurrently along a feeding strip, delivering a completed part with every stroke at much lower unit cost for serial production.

What secondary operations are supported after stamping?

We provide complete in-house secondary processing including rotary tumbling deburring, abrasive belt grinding, semi-automatic riveting (brass-to-steel and brass-to-hylam), silver brazing, and plating verification (TFT and DFT testers).

Can you supply stamped parts to Ambattur Industrial Estate manufacturers?

Yes. Located in Vadaperumbakkam, our factory is only 15–20 minutes from Ambattur Industrial Estate via the 200 Feet Inner Ring Road. We maintain daily delivery runs to automotive Tier-1s and electrical manufacturers across Ambattur, Padi, and Madhavaram.

What tolerances do you maintain on stamped components?

Our standard production tolerance is ±0.1 mm. All production runs follow first-piece approval and regular in-process patrol inspection measured with calibrated Mitutoyo metrology equipment.
